Kathmandu temples

Images from a few of the holiest sites in Nepal. The Hindu temple of Pashupatinath on the Holy but sadly polluted Bagmati river. It consists of many small temples, cremation ghats and a few saddhus - and lots of hawkers. Boudhanath Stupa is one of the world's biggest and is the 'mecca' for Tibetan buddhists exiled in Nepal. It was a wonderful place to visit but surrounded by a lot of commercial, but interesting, shops. I walked from Thamel to Swayambhunath Stupa which is on top of hill overlooking Kathmandu. It is about 500 years old with many small shrines and practising monks on site.
