Motukiekie Beach

Motukiekie beach is 20 minutes north of Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island. It's difficult to get to as, to get well out amongst the sea stacks and mussel covered rocks with starfish, there is a window of only about 45 mins at low tide before the tide starts to come back in potentially sealing you off if you are not wary. To get some of these images I was over knee deep in the water with tripod. There are shots here of both a sunrise and a sunset session. And no starfish were moved for the photos. Alas, there were a few overseas photographers there doing that!
